Other River Cleanup Projects

We’ve heard a lot about contamination in the flume that connected the Georgetown Steam Plant to the Lower Duwamish Waterway at Slip 4. Do you know anything about the source of that contamination?
There is a web site with a site summary, information about the Georgetown Steam Plant Flume, and site documents. Please visit http://yosemite.epa.gov/r10/cleanup.nsf/ldw/slip+4#cleanup for details.
Is the Boeing Plant 2 investigation looking at the carbon tetrachloride? Are investigations on-going? Will the investigation address contamination in the river as well as the uplands? What is happening with that investigation?
While there are several contaminants of concern being studied as part of the work at Boeing Plant 2, our understanding is that carbon tetrachloride is not one of those contaminants. Please check the Boeing Plant 2 web site for background information, fact sheets and technical documents: http://yosemite.epa.gov/R10/CLEANUP.NSF/LDW/Boeing+Plant+2
